If someone introduced you to the person you talked to, don’t forget to send an email or letter to thank them for the introduction, let them know you talked, and tell how the conversation went.
Here’s a sample letter:
Hi [Name],
Thank you so much for putting me in touch with [Name]. We spoke on the phone last week, and he gave me some great advice on [name the topic(s) you discussed].
I am continuing to look for [indicate the goal of your informational interviews] and I’d welcome any additional ideas and contacts you can offer.
Thank you so much for your help, and please let me know if I can return the favor!
