Professional and Industry associations can be a terrific way to quickly meet many people who will agree to informational interviews. Association members are often very supportive, and elected officers almost always have a large professional network and are typically extremely good at connecting people. To find the association meetings you can attend, simply go to Google (or another search engine) and conduct a search on the name of a profession or industry that appeals to you, the name of the nearest city, and the words “association” and “chapter.” Here’s a sample search to find professional associations for marketing in New York City:
